Haltung Antipathes sp.

Das Bild wurde von Goonie mit dem Hinweis auf Entstehung der Aufname im Persischen Golf vor Oman eingestellt.

Diese fressen kleine, planktonische Organismen und leben entweder in Kavernen/ Höhlen/ Unterstände, oder in bis zu mehrere 100 Metern Meerestiefe.
Ihr Skelett besteht nicht aus Kalk sondern aus einer Substanz, welche sehr hart, hornähnlich und proteinhaltig ist, dem Gorgonin.

Es soll etwa 150 Arten geben.
Aufgeteilt unter der Familie Antipathidae in den Gattungen:

Antipathes, Aphanipathes, Bathypathes, Cirripathes, Leiopathes, Parantipathes, Stichopathes.

Manche Arten werden/wurden für die Schmuckindustrie im großen Stil abgeerntet und deren Bestände verwüstet.
Haltung, wie bei allen Tieren ohne Zooxanthellen, nicht einfach!
